2011 – C/S: Game Design

Yes – 2011 Is the current GSUSA badge

This is not an official GSUSA Badge. This is an interpretation by The Badge Archive on how to combine the requirements for Cadette Digital Game Design and Senior Digital Game Design badges.

What is this badge about?

Create and avatar/character, write pixel art with array code, make a game scenario with a decision tree, and test a partner’s game.

Our Summary* of Requirements:

  1. Design an avatar that represents yourself (Cadettes) or a character with looks and personality for your game (Senior).
  2. Learn how arrays are written to create an image on a grid and write a simple array to create an image on a grid.
  3. Think of a game scenario for a game you want to design that can have a positive impact. Decide what what game mechanics it will need.
  4. Learn what a decision tree is and make one for your game scenario and character/avatar.
  5. Have someone else play through your game and give feedback.

* – This summary is based off the GSUSA booklet activity choices and official requirements of the badges being combined.
