Note: Lasting Help is a service project that continues to benefit the community long after the original work is finished. This can be done by sharing knowledge or creating something permanent. This could be a structure or program that another organization will continue to do after the original set up is complete.

Activity Description:

Items Needed:

• Blank paper
• Coloring Tools
• Stapler
• (Optional) Printed Mini Animal Care Coloring Sheets
• (Optional) Scissors
• (Optional) Glue

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15 min):

1. Fold the blank paper in half to make a booklet. (2 min).
   • Make sure they line up the edges evenly.
2. Staple the folded edge to hold the book together. (1 min).
3. Draw a cover design showing a favorite pet. (2 min).
   • Provide youth with markers or crayons for this step.
4. Write a safety or care rule and draw a picture on each page. (10 min).
   • They can draw their own pictures.
   • (Optional) Color, cut out, and glue the mini coloring pages into the book with appropriate information written on each page.
