Fulfills Step 4 of GSUSA Bugs badge requirements.

Info Needed for Badge Requirements: Bug homes keep insects safe, help them find food, and protect their young. Homes can be made from silk, mud, leaves, or hidden places like soil or wood. Bugs use them to rest, raise eggs, or trap prey.

• Pen/Pencil and Paper

Instructions (Total Time: 20–28 minutes)

1. Watch the Bug Videos (10–12 minutes)
   • Scouts watch videos and learn how bugs build homes
     • Video: Bug Homes Overview
     • Video: Hornet Nest Building
   • Focus on how hornets use bark, leaves, and spit to build nests
2. Reflect on Bug Homes (5–8 minutes)
   • Scouts talk about how bugs use natural materials
   • Share one interesting fact from the videos
3. Draw a bug home (5–8 minutes)
   • Using what they learned, scouts draw a bug home of their own creation
