Activity Description: Explore the GSUSA Law by selecting specific lines and brainstorming or acting out real-world ways to practice those values in person.
Items Needed:
- (Optional) GSUSA Scout Law printouts
- (Optional) Whiteboard or chart paper and markers
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–20 min):
- Review the Law (3–5 mins):
- Youth read the Girl Scout Law aloud together.
- Brainstorm (5–10 mins):
- Divide youth into small groups (or stay as one group if already a small group).
- Each group choose one specific line from the Girl Scout Law. They will come up with three real-life ways they can practice that trait. One way at troop meetings, one way at school, and one way at home.
- Each group picks their favorite one to share and thinks of a way to act out or role-play the idea for the rest of the groups to guess what it is. The acting or role-play must be less than 2 minutes long.
- Action (10–20 mins):
- Each group shares their best idea with the troop by acting out or role-playing the idea for the rest of the groups to guess.
