Activity Description: Youth guess emotions using emoji-style drawings.
Items Needed:
- None (just the group and their creativity!)
- (Optional) Paper and pen, or coloring supplies, for each youth
Instructions
- Gather youth together.
- Instead of directly asking how they feel, ask each youth to make an emoji face that matches their current emotion.
- The rest of the group takes a few minutes to guess the emotion.
- Afterward, each youth shares how they are feeling.
- Repeat until every youth has had a turn.
Variation:
Instead of acting out their emoji face, youth can draw the emoji that matches how they are feeling. After everyone completes their drawing, the rest of the group can guess the emotion based on the drawing before the youth shares how they feel.
