Our Summary* of requirements:
- Interview a dermatologist or cosmetic chemist about principles of skin care and products, OR do a scientific test about skin care products (compare two similar products with different brands with a three time trial, OR make a home-made recipe and test on multiple people AND record test results).
- Learn the science behind one of the fashion trends (compare three different priced sunglasses UV claims, learn the four C’s from a jeweler/gemologist AND how hue, saturation, and tone affect gem quality, OR design an outfit for three outdoor scenarios using the right materials for each weather/environment).
- Compare different types of hair care products (compare three shampoo ingredients and claims AND test each twice, talk to an expert and test hair dye on hair samples for different time frames, OR create your own perfume and compare to store bought scents).
- Analyze data you create about fashion (make a timeline of fashion trends, wear the same thing each day for a week with different accessories and document the process, OR do a three part survey of photos of people you know to people that don’t know them, people who do know them, and then the people themselves).
- Create your own fashion piece/idea (go eco-friendly, OR idea you want developed in the future) or make a future prediction (research trends in one area AND predict one and five years from now).
