Items Needed:
- Computer with internet access
- Projector or screen (optional)
- Crayons or markers
- Blank paper (one sheet per scout)
Instructions (Total Estimated Time: 35 minutes):
- Watch Bug Videos (10–12 minutes)
- Scouts view short educational videos on different bugs
- Optional: vote on which bugs to watch first
- Scouts listen for facts like where the bug lives, what it eats, or how it helps nature
- Draw and Design a Poster (10–12 minutes)
- Each scout chooses one bug they found interesting
- Scouts draw a picture of the bug with space for labels and writing
- Add Bug Facts (8–10 minutes)
- Scouts label the bug’s body parts
- Scouts answer questions next to their drawing:
- Where does the bug live?
- How long does it live?
- What does it eat?
- What is good about the bug?
- What is not so good about it?
- Who are its enemies?
- Share and Reflect (3–5 minutes)
- Scouts show their posters to the group
- Each shares one fact or surprise they learned about their bug
