Petal Project

The Petal Project is what we call all the things we’ve got on the To-Do list regarding Daisy Petals and Daisy Journeys. Outside of our normal work on collecting and posting links to earn badges – we’ve been brainstorming and making some useful things to do with Petals and Journeys (starting with the Daisy level). It is a work under construction and this page will be updated as we work on each aspect.

Petals at Home

The resource most Daisy Leaders ask for – a handout for parents to earn petals at home!

If a scout ever misses a petal – they can make it up using the three activities on the hand out. If you have a new scout that joined after your troop has already earned their petals – it’s very easy for parents to help them earn them at home with the handout.

Daisy Brownie Multi-Level

When making basic plans for earning the Daisy Petals, we realized that some of the steps are very similar to Brownie badges or journeys. It snowballed (like most of our projects) into a Basic Plan and then an extra activity added to make a basic D/B plan.

It’s going to take a while to get all 10 petals done this way, but we like the ability for D/B troops to have an easy basic plan to follow as well. What do you think? Our current possible 9 month year plan for Daisy Petals with Brownies looks like this:

  • Daisies would earn all their petals and do two journeys (Flower Garden and 3 Cheers)
  • Brownies would earn 6 badges (Senses, Making Friends, Fair Play, Eco Friend, Pets, & My Best Self) and two journeys (World of Girls and WoW)

Keep this post bookmarked as we’ll update them as we get more plans for the petals and the D/B multi-levels.

Daisy/Brownie Plans

Daisy Basic Plans

We’ve managed to get a Basic Meeting Plan to allow all troops to earn their petals in a meeting with minimal supply costs, but lots of fun. A variety of activities, and no story time. Any information they need, you can keep it to short information sharing and move on to an activity.

Activity Lists for Petals

We’ve gone through all the plans and meetings that were linked under the original 2011 requirements and sorted them into what part of the newer 2022 requirements it can still fulfill. This way leaders can look for the activity that fits what they are planning to do with their troop. If you have ANY additional activities we could add to the lists – especially the ones that don’t have as many options – contact us!

Daisy Themed Plans

We’re working on themed plans – ones where you can earn petals in an event (like the GS Law Tea Party) or theme a petal for a holiday.

Daisy Journey Activities and Plans

We’re collecting ideas for activities we can do for the Daisy Journeys, but have prioritized doing the Petals first.
