What is this badge about?
Share what Check-Call-Care is, make a small first aid kit, talk to a first responder, and find out how help someone who is sick or injured, and what to do when someone has a sudden illness.

Our Summary* of Requirements:
- Make (poster, skit, OR video) something to explain Check-Call-Care and share it (post it, perform it, OR show it) with others (friends/family, school, OR public library).
- Find out what you can do to help someone who is sick or injured until professionals arrive by talking to a first responder (EMT, Firefighter, OR tour emergency room/hospital/urgent care).
- Make a small first kit that you can use away from home (for backpack, in car glove box, sports locker, OR relative’s home) to deal with injuries that might happen on a hike, bike ride, or on your way to school.
- Learn about anaphylaxis, asthma attacks, choking, and diabetic emergencies (talk to medical professional, research and make poster, OR tour emergency room/hospital/urgent care).
- Find out how to care for people who have common illnesses such as a cold, a fever, or the flu and how to keep yourself safe while doing so (role-play, visit medical clinic, OR interview people and make a list).

- Pick one Share Check-Call-Care activity.
- Pick one Small First Aid Kit activity.
- Have one Required First Responder Guest Speaker and ensure you find out what you can do to help someone who is sick or injured until professionals arrive.

Retired Information
GSUSA did not print any formal explanation for the image change they made for all First Aid badges in 2024. The original 2011 image was a Greek red cross on a yellow background. It is illegal for anyone other than the American National Red Cross and the sanitary and hospital authorities of the armed forces of the United States to use the emblem of the Greek red cross on a white ground. Because the International Red Cross strictly regulates the use of the red cross and limits variations that closely imitate it, GSUSA likely phased it out to ensure full compliance with the trademark and federal protections.
When image changed in 2024, the requirements stayed the same.
