Our Summary* of requirements:

  1. Explore how you want to lead by talking with the group’s leader, observing a meeting to understand the group’s dynamics and leadership style, and reflecting on your own strengths and goals as a leader.
  2. Lead an activity by choosing two activity choices that are hands-on, cooperative, and a youth-led experience that keeps everyone engaged. Then share and get approval for one from the group’s leader, and guiding participants through the approved activity.
  3. Lead your first full meeting by creating an agenda that includes activities, timing, and materials, preparing your space and supplies, and guiding the group through the experience.
  4. Reflect on your first meeting and use those insights to adjust your plan, prepare materials and volunteers, and create a second meeting that focuses on keeping the meeting scout-led.
  5. Lead your second meeting by guiding the group, encouraging youth to take charge, and reflecting together on how everyone grew through a girl-led experience

This Volunteer in Training (VIT) pin should go where #12 is stated on the GSUSA Uniform Guide.

Note – The uniform guide shows the pin to be under a row of My Promise, My Faith and Cookie pins. This does not have to be placed under that row. All pins can be lined up together in the same row. The key factor is the pins should be placed under the Rainbow Bridging badge.

(Note – Badges and pins on a sash simply go in order (top of sash to bottom of sash) of Identification badges, bridging badge, pins, journeys, and other badges. Anything that does not fit on the front can be placed on the back of the sash. Sashes will not hold a lot of badges and vests are recommended if you plan to earn badges.)
