Our Summary* of requirements:
- Choose an issue and learn 5 things (5 social trends on the issue, 5 instances where technology impacts the issue, OR 5 businesses/groups that impact your issue).
- Find inspiration on how to address your issue (crowd sourcing for 30 responses from others, use biomimicry to look at what nature has to offer, OR explore other cultures with books, photos, or interviews) to see if they have a solution.
- Understand the thoughts, feelings, and experiences of those affected by the issue by observing or talking to to people involved (follow the routine of someone affected by the issue for one day, follow a professional or someone with values that works on the issue for half a day, OR interview an expert/professional in your topic area).
- Look at your issue from a new perspective (parent, engineer, business owner, teacher, woman, politician, etc.) AND pick three possible innovations to help the issue.
- Pick one solution (or use all three) and make something to show others the idea (business concept, presentation, magazine advertisement, OR video commercial) AND get feedback from a trusted source (professional, policy maker, small-business loan officer, other Girl Scouts, OR family).
