This is no longer listed on the GSUSA’s 2025 Award Log and is likely officially retiring when GSUSA announces the new badges in August. The Gold Torch is now listed as the award Seniors can earn instead.

  1. Pick any Senior Journey to complete.
  2. Find an organization to be part of the leadership team, or join a Girl Planning Board and serve a leadership role in GSUSA. The time commitment varies, but should be no less than four months of regular duties.

Two steps are needed to complete this award:

  1. Complete a Senior Leadership Journey.
  2. Serve for one full term in a leadership position at your school, place of worship, library, town council, community center, after-school club, or a similar organization…. The length of your service will depend on the term specified by the organization or the particular role.
