What is this badge about?
Go on a three-day, two-night backpacking trip of 10 miles distance or compete in a trail race of 5K/10K distance.

Our Summary* of requirements:
- Decide if you are trail running or hiking.
Hiking – Plan, prepare, and complete a three-day, two-night backpacking trip of 10 miles distance
Trail Running – Train and compete in a trail race of 5K/10K distance - Plan your budget and pick the place you will take your three day hike OR which competition you will be running in AND make one plan (research terms you need to know, talk to an expert about your plan, OR learn about common injuries for your adventure).
- Make a gear list for your run/hike after researching what you need from a trusted source (outdoor adventure retailer, expert, or online) OR bring your gear to a troop meeting to compare and share and repair before your adventure.
- Practice by trying running/hiking with an experienced runner/hiker, talking to a coach/expert, OR doing visualization exercises.
- Review the safety checklist in the GSUSA booklet before the adventure AND do one activity during your adventure (shoot an action video or action shots for a portfolio, play a game, test a camping skill, OR keep an adventure journal).
