Our Summary* of requirements:
- Pick a major purchase item and research it in one way (check out different price points based on features, compare three different models on 10 points, OR talk to a salesperson about an item and fill out a chart).
- Learn about personal experiences about the item you have chosen (interview three people that own your item, review three professional reviews of the item, OR read at least 20 customer reviews).
- Research plans to afford the major purchase item (speak to a salesperson about financing plans, research down payment options, OR calculate the cost over 3, 6, and 12 months for three different items with base price, interest, and total cost).
- Research any alternative options for the major purchase item (used vs. new, sales vs. regular price, OR compare 5 different companies that sell the same item).
- Create a mock budget to afford the major purchase item for a projected length of time before you purchase it (short-term buy in three months, medium-term buy in one year, OR long-term buy in several years).
