Activity List(Not Available Yet)
Our Summary* of requirements:
- Explore income in one activity (differentiate between earned and unearned income in an interactive game, investigate how companies add benefits, perks, and equal pay practices, OR compare salaries for two different careers, including education/training/job satisfaction).
- Learn about spending and saving plans from a trusted source (financial expert, OR research and feedback from others), OR talk to a money manager about unforeseen circumstance and emergency funds.
- Learn how inflation works and do one activity to further your understanding (research inflation trends for the past five years, consult a financial planner about protecting money from inflation, OR create a list of inflation terms with definitions and teach them to a peer).
- Learn about tax-advantaged investments and compound interest and then do one investing activity (think of three companies AND find out their stock price and annual reports, interview an investment advisor about 529 college plans, HSAs, individual stocks/bonds, AND mutual funds/exchange-traded funds, OR use a compound interest calculator and try several scenarios to see how your money can grow).
- Make a list of 5 things your community needs based off research from local news and community members, talk to a charitable organization on what they need and who helps them, OR research three local philanthropists on what they did and what impact it had.
* – This summary is based off the GSUSA booklet activity choices.
