Our Summary* of requirements:

  1. Make shadows (yourself, a self-made tree) at two different times of day, tracing the shadow with chalk or string each time and then compare the silhouette and outline
  2. Gather items (leaves, rocks, natural objects) trace or draw them and guess a measurement (length or weight) and then check to see if your guesses were right.
  3. Choose something (natural object, hand/foot, daisy related item) to become your unit of measure and then measure things around you, estimating before measuring it with your new unit of measure

* – This summary is based off the GSUSA booklet activity choices.
