A “Wow” story is about a positive moment when something you did or posted online made someone happy, helped them, or brought people together in a good way. It shows how thoughtful actions on social media can have a great impact!

Here are examples of “Wow” moments for middle schoolers on social media:

  1. Supporting a Friend: A scout sees their friend’s post expressing nerves about an upcoming competition. They comment with encouragement, like “You’ve been practicing so hard—you’ll do amazing!” Their words make the friend feel reassured and motivated.
  2. Promoting Positivity: A scout creates a post to highlight acts of kindness they’ve seen at school, like helping carry books or sharing snacks. The post inspires others to do kind things and spreads positivity throughout the group.
  3. Sharing Helpful Information: A scout finds a great study resource online for an upcoming test and shares it in a group chat with classmates. Their thoughtful post helps everyone prepare better and feel more confident.
  4. Celebrating Achievements: A scout notices their friend achieved something special, like winning a contest or performing well in a recital. They post a congratulatory message and tag their friend, helping them feel recognized and appreciated.
  5. Encouraging Team Spirit: A scout notices their sports team received some negative comments online after losing a game. They post a message saying, “We played our best and supported each other—that’s what matters!” Their uplifting words help boost the team’s morale.
  6. Recognizing Creativity: A scout sees a classmate share their artwork on social media. They comment, “Your art is amazing! You’re so talented!” The classmate feels proud and encouraged to keep creating.
  7. Standing Up for Others: A scout notices a friend being unfairly criticized in the comments of their post. They step in and write, “Everyone makes mistakes—let’s focus on being kind instead.” Their comment helps stop the negativity and encourages a supportive environment.
  8. Sharing Gratitude: A scout posts a heartfelt thank-you message to a teacher or mentor, highlighting how their support made a difference. The teacher feels appreciated and motivated to continue helping students.
