Items Needed:
- List of possible scenarios (Can use VTK What Would You Do? by GSUSA)
Instructions:
- Split scouts into pairs or small groups.
- Ask them to act out a scene where someone is treated badly or left out. Encourage them to think about what they would say and show what they would do to help.
- After everyone has a chance to act, ask them “Why is it important to stand up for others?”
Possible Scenarios
- A scout is waiting to use a swing on the playground, but someone else takes the swing before they get there.
- You notice a new scout at your meeting sitting alone and looking shy.
- A scout invites everyone in the group to a party, except for one person.
- During a game, a scout laughs when another scout makes a mistake.
- A new scout in the troop doesn’t have a partner for an activity, but you’re already paired with your best friend.
- A scout drops their lunchbox, and some other scouts start teasing them instead of helping.
- A scout forgets their supplies for an art project and doesn’t know what to do.
- Two scouts are arguing, and one of them starts calling the other unkind names.
- A group of scouts is building something, and one scout keeps being left out of the teamwork.
- A scout wants to join in a group activity, but they don’t know how to ask or feel too nervous to try.
