Website Traffic Techniques

We consider The Badge Archive to be a small website, and we’re thrilled in 2025 to get around 100 daily unique visitors. It means all our work is helping someone.

However, in the blogging world, daily traffic is usually not considered good until it’s in the thousands. Sites with that kind of traffic are usually a viral sensation or have built up their content over years. When building your own website, do not expect reach those kind of numbers quickly.

Here are some standard traffic driving techniques GSUSA mentions in their Senior Website Designer booklet with some explanations on what they are, and real-life response on how each method worked for The Badge Archive’s website.

  • RSS Feeds: Allow users to subscribe to your content updates.
  • Promotion: Advertise your website through various channels.
  • Social Networking: Share and engage with your audience on social media platforms.
  • Ads: Use online advertisements to reach a broader audience.
  • Host Events: Organize events to promote your website.
  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Optimize your content for search engines to improve visibility.
  • Links: Build quality backlinks to your site to increase authority and traffic.
