Info Needed: Beauty isn’t the same everywhere or every time. Beauty standards are shaped by society, media, and trends, but they don’t define genuine beauty. Different cultures and moments in history have their own standards and being yourself is always beautiful. Watching women’s sports to see that true beauty is found in strength, confidence, and teamwork, not just appearances or social trends


Items Needed:

  • Technology to stream or screen a sporting event.
  • (Optional) Space with a large monitor or projector.
  • (Optional) Paper and pencils for jotting notes or reflections.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–30 min):

  1. Watch part of a women’s sporting event together (15–20 min).
    • Choose a sport scouts enjoy. It can be live, recorded, or highlight clips.
    • Focus on any level: youth, college, professional, or Olympic.
    • (Optional) Let scouts snack or cheer as they watch.
  2. Reflect and discuss as a group (5–10 min).
    • Ask scouts what qualities stood out during the game (e.g. focus, teamwork, confidence).
    • Talk about how these qualities show real beauty beyond appearance.
    • (Optional) Scouts can write down one trait they admire and how it connects to authenticity.
