Info Needed: Scouts explore how their bodies help them do everyday activities they enjoy. They name favorite activities and notice what body parts are involved.

Items Needed:

  • VTK Thanks Me by GSUSA (or blank paper divided into four sections)
  • Pencil or pen

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 22–40 minutes):

  1. Choose Favorite Activities (5–7 minutes)
    • Scout writes one thing they love to do in each of four stars or boxes.
    • Activities can be playful, relaxing, creative, or sporty.
      • Examples: drawing, jumping rope, playing a board game, baking.
  2. Connect Body Parts to Activities (12–15 minutes)
    • For each activity, scout thinks of up to five body parts that help them do it.
    • They write those parts near the matching activity.
      • Example: For “drawing,” they might write eyes, fingers, wrists, brain, and shoulders.
  3. Think About All Body Help (5–7 minutes)
    • Scout reads their full list and thinks about how their whole body supports their day.
    • Encourage them to notice how much their body works to do different things.
    • (Optional) Write one sentence saying “Thanks” to their body.
  4. (Optional) Reflection (5–10 minutes)
    • Scout draws a picture of themselves doing one favorite activity.
    • Add labeled arrows or icons to show the body parts at work.
    • They can share with a caregiver or keep it as a reminder of how amazing they are.
