Info Needed: Scouts recognize that everyone has unique strengths. They write kind messages to each other to appreciate physical and non-physical traits and celebrate what makes each person special.
Items Needed:
- One pad of sticky notes or small notebook per scout
- Pencil or pen
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 30–40 minutes):
- Write Messages for Others (10–15 minutes)
- Each scout writes one positive message for every other scout in the group.
- Messages can be about things they admire: kindness, talent, bravery, or anything else.
- Use sticky notes for each person, or write one message per page in a small notebook.
- Share and Collect (10–12 minutes)
- Scouts stick each note to the matching person’s back, or place it in their notebook.
- (Optional) Help scouts gently remove notes if needed and read them to themselves.
- (Optional) Scouts may choose to read their notes aloud or keep them private.
- Reflect Together (10–13 minutes)
- Scouts reflect on how it felt to read nice things others noticed.
- Discuss how kind words help us feel seen and valued.
- Remind scouts that comparison isn’t needed, we all have something wonderful to offer.
