Instructions (Estimated Time: 35 minutes):

  1. Plan Your Assembly Line (10 minutes)
    • Make one complete Car Card SWAP item first.
    • Write down each step you took to make it.
    • Assign yourself a different “job” for each step by arranging materials in order and moving station by station (you are your own assembly line!).
  2. Build Your Items (10 minutes)
    • Set up your materials in order across a table or space.
    • Set a timer for 5 minutes.
    • Move from station to station, repeating the same process until your supplies run out or time finishes.
  3. Check and Reflect (5 minutes)
    • Review your finished items. Are they all the same? Did any steps slow you down?
    • Write or draw what worked well and what you would improve.
  4. Share Your Process (10 minutes)
    • Show your finished items and share your written plan with a family member, friend, or leader (in person or virtually).
    • Ask for feedback on how you could make more in less time or improve the quality.
    • Update your plan if you’d like and try another round with your improved process!
