Traditionally sung with a southern accent for fun.
Can be sung together or have one sing the main part and everyone joins in on “Dem bones gonna rise again!” and the chorus.

Chorus:
I know it, know it,
Indeed I know it, Brother.
I know it, Hey!
Dem bones gonna rise again!

Sing each trio of Verses followed by the Chorus:
Sing “Dem bones gonna rise again!” after each line.

The lord he thought he’d make a man.
Took a little bit of water, and a teensy bit of sand.

Thought he’d make a woman, too.
The Lord didn’t know just what to do.

Took a rib from Adam’s side.
For to make Miss Eve, his bride.

Repeat Chorus

Put ’em in a garden wide and fair.
Told ’em to eat what they found there.

Peaches, pears, plums and such.
But the apple tree you better not touch.

One day Miss Eve was walking around
Spied that tree all loaded down.

Repeat Chorus

Serpent crawling around that trunk.
At miss Eve, his eye he wunk.

Eve, she just took a little pull.
Then she filled her fig leaf full.

My the fruit looks might fine.
Take a bit, the Lord won’t mind.

So she took a pick and she took a pull
Then she filled her apron full.

One day Adam was walking around.
Spied them peels all over the ground.

Adam, he just took a teensy slice
Said “Hmm-humm, woman that sure am nice.

Repeat Chorus

Then the Lord came walking around.
Spied them peels all over the ground.

The Lord cried out in his mighty voice.
That shook the heavens to the joists.

Cried, Adam, Adam, Where art though?
Here I is Lord, I’s comin’ now.

Repeat Chorus

Adam, Adam, did you eat these?
Wasn’t me Lord, must a been Eve.

Then the Lord rose up in his mighty wrath,
Said ya’ll just beat it down the path.

Then He put an angel at the door.
Said ya’ll don’t come ’round here no more.

Repeat Chorus

Eve took the hoe, Adam took the plow.
That’s why we’re all working now.

To this tale there ain’t no more.
Eve got the Apple, and Adam got the core.
