- Printed pictures or names of 3–4 one-pot meal options (see examples below)
- Paper and pencil for each scout (optional for voting)
- (Optional) stickers or tokens for voting
Suggested Meal Options: Choose 3–4 simple One-Pot Recipes to present.
- One-Pot Pasta Primavera (veggies, pasta, goat cheese)
- Campfire Nachos (chips, beans, cheese, toppings)
- Chili Mac (macaroni, beans, chili seasoning)
- Sloppy Joes (ground meat or lentils, sauce, buns)
Instructions (Total Time: 35 minutes):
- Introduce the Meal Options (10–12 minutes)
- Show scouts the pictures or names of each one-pot meal
- Briefly explain what’s in each meal and how it’s made at camp
- Ask scouts which ones sound tasty or fun to make
- Vote for a Favorite (5–7 minutes)
- Scouts vote by marking their favorite on paper or placing a sticker/token
- Count the votes and announce the winning meal
- Talk About Ingredients and Prep (10–12 minutes)
- Discuss what ingredients are needed for the winning meal
- Talk about how scouts can help during camp (stirring, adding toppings, etc.)
- Reflect and Get Ready (5–6 minutes)
- Scouts share why they chose their favorite
- Remind them they’ll help make the meal during the campout
