Items Needed:
- Paper
- Pens or pencils
- (Optional) Brownie Getting Feedback Form by GSUSA (one per scout)
- (Optional) A clipboard or chair for a “presenter’s spotlight” area
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–25 minutes):
- Step 1: Prepare to Share (3–4 minutes)
- Scouts review their idea, drawing, or prototype. They can write or sketch notes about what they’ll share.
- Step 2: Present with Confidence (10–12 minutes total)
- One scout at a time presents their idea to the group.
- They describe what it is, what it does, and who it helps.
- After each presentation, the group gives a round of applause.
- Step 3: Give Friendly Feedback (5–6 minutes)
- The group shares one thing they like, one thing they’re curious about, and one idea to make the invention even better.
- Scouts can use the Getting Feedback handout to write down suggestions.
- Step 4: Quick Reflection (2–3 minutes)
- Scouts decide on one change they could make to improve their idea.
- If there’s time, they draw or describe that change on paper.
