Photo Color Edit

Activity Description: Scouts use photo editing tools to change the look of a picture by adjusting color or applying filters.

Info Needed: Different colors can show different feelings, like happy, sad, or calm. Colors also help us see and understand what things are, like a green tree or a blue sky. Using colors in art helps make the pictures more interesting and tells a story.


Items Needed:

  • Digital photo (taken or selected by the scout)
  • Device with photo editing software or app
  • (Optional) Access to built-in filters or color adjustment tools

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15 min):

  1. Choose a photo to edit from a device or camera roll (2 min)
  2. Open the photo in an editing app or software (2 min)
  3. Explore color settings and filters available in the app (3 min)
    • (Optional) Try turning the photo black and white
    • (Optional) Use a filter to change the mood or color tone
  4. Apply one or more changes to the photo (5 min)
    • Adjust brightness, contrast, or saturation
    • Use a preset filter or manual color tools
  5. Save the edited photo to the device or gallery (3 min)
    • (Optional) Share or print the final version for display or discussion
