Instructions
- Brainstorm Pets
- Scouts take turns naming different types of pets they know.
- Encourage listening and taking turns to share.
- Learn About Pet Needs
- Explain that pets have different needs depending on their species.
- If visiting a pet supply store, a store employee may share information about pet food, toys, and supplies.
- If visiting a veterinarian’s office, a vet may provide insights on pet health, medical care, and long-term well-being.
- Play Pet Bingo
- Each scout receives a Pet Bingo card.
- Scouts explore the location and ask questions about the pets they see.
- Example questions to ask about different pets:
- How much does it cost to care for this pet per year?
- How much space does this pet need?
- How much food does this pet need per day?
- What kind of human contact does this pet like?
- Mark Bingo Cards
- After finding answers, scouts mark an “X” on the square that matches.
- When they complete a line (up, down, or across), they finish Pet Bingo!
- Reflect on the Experience
- Discuss: “Which of these pets sound like the right fit for you? Why?”
- Scouts share their thoughts about different pets and their needs.
