    • Veterinarian’s Office
    • Computers, smartphones, or tablets (for online research)

Instructions

  1. Brainstorm Pets
    • Scouts take turns naming different types of pets they know.
    • Encourage listening and taking turns to share.
  2. Learn About Pet Needs
    • Explain that pets have different needs depending on their species.
    • If visiting a pet supply store, a store employee may share information about pet food, toys, and supplies.
    • If visiting a veterinarian’s office, a vet may provide insights on pet health, medical care, and long-term well-being.
  3. Play Pet Bingo
    • Each scout receives a Pet Bingo card.
    • Scouts explore the location and ask questions about the pets they see.
    • Example questions to ask about different pets:
      • How much does it cost to care for this pet per year?
      • How much space does this pet need?
      • How much food does this pet need per day?
      • What kind of human contact does this pet like?
  4. Mark Bingo Cards
    • After finding answers, scouts mark an “X” on the square that matches.
    • When they complete a line (up, down, or across), they finish Pet Bingo!
  5. Reflect on the Experience
    • Discuss: “Which of these pets sound like the right fit for you? Why?”
    • Scouts share their thoughts about different pets and their needs.
