Fulfills Step 5 of GSUSA Cadette Netiquette badge requirements.
Items needed
- Pens or pencils
- Paper (enough for at least one per scout)
- Laptop or tablet (optional)
- Netiquette Tip Sheet
- Phones, tablets, or cameras for recording video or taking pictures (optional)
Instructions
- Individually or in small groups, scouts plan how they will present their tips. They can:
- Write a script for a skit.
- Outline ideas.
- Create a sock puppet show.
- Film a quick video.
- Write and perform a monologue.
- Using a phone, tablet, or camera, scouts record their video. They should focus on keeping it concise and highlighting the most important points from their tips.
- Allow time for scouts to brainstorm and develop their performances. Leave enough time for sharing their work with the group, even if it’s a rough draft.
- Once all performances are shared, discuss who might enjoy seeing these presentations and brainstorm opportunities to share them, such as at school or troop meetings.
- Scouts who haven’t finished can complete their performance at home and present their final product at the next meeting.
