Perform Tips

Fulfills Step 5 of GSUSA Cadette Netiquette badge requirements.

Items needed

  • Pens or pencils
  • Paper (enough for at least one per scout)
  • Laptop or tablet (optional)
  • Netiquette Tip Sheet
  • Phones, tablets, or cameras for recording video or taking pictures (optional)

Instructions

  • Individually or in small groups, scouts plan how they will present their tips. They can:
    • Write a script for a skit.
    • Outline ideas.
    • Create a sock puppet show.
    • Film a quick video.
    • Write and perform a monologue.
  • Using a phone, tablet, or camera, scouts record their video. They should focus on keeping it concise and highlighting the most important points from their tips.
  • Allow time for scouts to brainstorm and develop their performances. Leave enough time for sharing their work with the group, even if it’s a rough draft.
  • Once all performances are shared, discuss who might enjoy seeing these presentations and brainstorm opportunities to share them, such as at school or troop meetings.
  • Scouts who haven’t finished can complete their performance at home and present their final product at the next meeting.
