Parachute a Peeps

From the second story, drop a Peeps Bunny attached to a homemade parachute and see if it can land safely or does it drop and not fall gently?

Items Needed:

  • Marshmallow Peeps bunny
  • Plastic bag or lightweight fabric (for parachute)
  • String or yarn
  • Tape or glue
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Small objects for testing (to compare results)

Instructions:

  1. Build the Parachute:
    • Cut the plastic bag or fabric into a square or circle shape to use as the parachute.
    • Attach four strings or pieces of yarn to the corners or edges of the parachute using tape or glue.
  2. Secure the Bunny:
    • Tie the other ends of the strings to the Peeps bunny. Make sure the bunny is securely attached and balanced.
  3. Test the Parachute:
    • Drop the parachute from a safe height (e.g., standing on a chair or staircase). Observe how well it slows the bunny’s fall.
  4. Improve:
    • Experiment with different parachute sizes, string lengths, or materials to see what works best.
    • Compare results to learn about how design changes affect the parachute’s performance.
