Non-physical Superpower

Fulfills Step 3 of GSUSA Uniquely Us badge requirements.

Info Needed: Scouts brainstorm and share positive traits that have nothing to do with appearance, celebrating what makes each person great in their own way. They create a superhero identity that highlights a non-physical strength and shows what makes them uniquely powerful.


Items Needed:

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–30 minutes):

  1. Brainstorm Personal Superpowers (5–7 minutes)
    • Scouts think of something they’re good at that doesn’t involve appearance.
    • Examples: cheering up friends, solving puzzles, being dependable.
    • (Optional) Share ideas as a group before writing.
  2. Create a Superhero Identity (10–12 minutes)
    • Scouts fill out their “My Super Self” sheet or create their own on blank paper.
      • Include: superhero name, superpower, motto, favorite pose, and signature move.
    • Encourage creativity with names and moves that reflect their strengths.
  3. (Optional) Share and Celebrate (5–10 minutes)
    • Scouts present their superhero identity to the group.
    • Group celebrates each scout’s superpower with claps, cheer moves, or superhero poses.
    • Remind scouts that the best powers come from how they treat others and what they love to do.
