Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–30 min):
- Freestyle warm-up (5–8 min)
- Leader plays a fun, upbeat song of their choice.
- Scouts dance however they want: big, small, silly, calm. Encourage movement that feels joyful and comfortable.
- Partner emotion dance – round one (5–12 min)
- Scouts pair up and dance to an emotion-shifting song, each with their own role.
- As the song plays, Partner A chooses an emotion based on the music and dances to show it, changing emotions as the music changes.
- Partner B watches and mirrors the movement, trying to guess the feelings.
- After the song ends, the pair discusses:
- What emotions did they see or feel?
- Which ones were easy or hard to guess?
- Partner emotion dance – round two (5–12 min)
- The pairs switch roles.
- Partner B now dances while Partner A mirrors and interprets.
- After the song ends, reflect again:
- What helped you understand your partner’s emotion?
- Was anything surprising or tricky to copy?
