Fulfills Step 3 of GSUSA Uniquely Us badge requirements.
Info Needed: Scouts brainstorm and share positive traits that have nothing to do with appearance, celebrating what makes each person great in their own way. They create a quick, personalized identity card focused on strengths, personality, and kindness.
Items Needed:
- Small index cards or half sheets of paper (one per scout)
- Pens, pencils, or markers
- (Optional) stickers or crayons for decoration
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 10–15 minutes):
- Make a “Me Beyond My Body” Card (5–7 minutes)
- Each scout gets a card or half sheet of paper.
- They write their name at the top and fill in the following short sections:
- Something I’m really good at
- A way I help others
- A part of my personality I’m proud of
- (Optional) A fun fact or favorite hobby
- Decorate and Celebrate (5–6 minutes)
- Scouts decorate their card using symbols, doodles, or words that reflect who they are inside.
- (Optional) Add a kindness badge or special border design for uniqueness.
- (Optional) Quick Share Circle (2–3 minutes)
- Scouts hold up their card or place it in front of them.
- If time allows, invite 2–3 volunteers to share one favorite thing from their card.
- Remind scouts their strengths go far beyond what’s on the outside.
