Make Stacking Cups

Items Needed:

  • Paper or plastic cups (at least 6 per scout)
  • Markers
  • Stickers
  • Tape
  • (Optional) Washi tape or colored paper
  • (Optional) Timer or stopwatch

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 5–10 min):

  1. Give each scout a set of cups to decorate. (5–10 min)
    • Use markers, stickers, or tape to personalize each cup.
    • (Optional) Add names, symbols, or team colors.

How to Play with Stacking Cups

First, clear a flat surface for stacking. Tables or floors work well. Make sure the area is safe and stable.

  • Practice building towers with the decorated cups.
    • Try different shapes: pyramid, wall, or freestyle.
    • Challenge someone to build the tallest tower.
  • Speed stack by timing how fast you can stack and unstack their cups.
    • Use a timer or count aloud.
    • Create friendly competitions or relay races.
  • Display your favorite tower or share a stacking trick.
    • Encourages creativity and teamwork.
    • Take photos of different towers.
