- Paper for each scout
- Pencils and coloring tools (crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc.)
- A printed or digital collection of landscape photo examples (mountains, forests, beaches, parks, cities, etc.)
- (Optional) Art materials like paint or collage supplies
Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 15–30 minutes):
- Pick a Landscape Photo (3–5 min)
- Show scouts the landscape photo options. These can include parks, forests, lakes, beaches, or cities.
- Each scout chooses one photo that inspires them.
- Create a Landscape Drawing (10–12 min)
- Scouts use their art supplies to create a landscape inspired by their chosen photo.
- Encourage them to notice colors, shapes, and textures in the photo.
- They can add creative touches to make the scene their own.
- (Optional) Design Challenge (5–7 min)
- Scouts add something new to the landscape, like a bench, a tower, or a bridge.
- If there’s time and interest, they can sketch or build their idea using recycled or art materials.
