They will choose a subject and create a visual piece based on it.
Items Needed:
- Paper for each scout
- Chosen art medium (crayons, markers, paint, or a New Art Medium)
- Clipboards, lap desks, or sturdy books to draw or paint on
- A location selected by the scouts, such as:
- Camp
- City street
- Favorite building (school, library, historical structure, etc.)
- Local landmark
- Park or nature spot

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 30–45 minutes):
- Pick and Travel to the Location (5–10 min)
- At the place scouts voted on as inspiration for their art, find a safe, quiet spot where scouts can focus and create.
- Make Location-Inspired Art (20–30 min)
- Scouts use their chosen medium to draw or paint something from what they see around them.
- They can focus on details like shape, color, and texture.
- The art can be either realistic or expressive.

- Scouts show their artwork to the group and talk about:

- How the place made them feel.
