May the 4th, also known as Star Wars Day, is a fan-created holiday celebrating the Star Wars franchise. The date is a playful nod to the famous line, “May the Force be with you,” reimagined as “May the 4th be with you.” Fans worldwide celebrate with themed events, movie marathons, costumes, and creative activities honoring the galaxy far, far away. 🌌

Elementary Scouts
Younger scouts can engage in fun and creative activities inspired by the Star Wars galaxy:
- Lightsaber Crafting: Make pool noodle lightsabers or decorate cardboard tubes with foil and markers for a personal Jedi weapon.
- Droid Races: Use small toys or hand-made “droids” (like balloon droids or remote-control toys) and have races around a fun obstacle course.
- Alien Mask Design: Let scouts craft their own Star Wars alien masks using paper plates, paint, and other craft supplies.
- Asteroid Toss Game: Create a “ring toss” or beanbag-style game where scouts try to toss “asteroids” (balls or beanbags) into buckets representing planets.
- Star Wars Storytime: Read aloud Star Wars-themed short stories or act out a mini Star Wars-inspired skit.
Teen Scouts
For older scouts, focus on immersive, teamwork-driven, and challenging activities:
- Jedi Training Challenges: Set up a training course where scouts complete activities like balancing on a beam, obstacle jumping, or lightsaber duels with foam noodles.
- Galactic Escape Room: Create a Star Wars-inspired escape room with puzzles and riddles to solve a “mission,” like disabling a Death Star or rescuing a rebel.
- Galactic Debate: Divide the troop into groups to role-play debates on Star Wars-inspired topics, such as droid rights, Rebel vs. Imperial leadership, or the ethics of the Jedi Order.
- Build-a-Droid Workshop: Provide recyclable materials like boxes and bottles, and have scouts design and build their own droids with backstories and abilities.
- Galactic Campfire Stories: Under the stars, share Star Wars-themed stories or scout-adapted legends about galactic heroes and their values of bravery and teamwork.
