Guest Feedback

Items Needed:

  • Brownie Getting Feedback Form by GSUSA (one per scout, for later use)
  • (Optional) A prototype, drawing, or idea each scout has created
  • (Optional) Welcome sign or name tags for guest(s)
  • (Optional) A display space or presenting area

Prepare Before the Visit (10–15 minutes, before guests arrive)

  • Scouts review their idea or prototype and practice what they will say.
  • They can sketch answers to the Getting Feedback handout as a warm-up, but they do not complete the form during guest time.

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 30–50 minutes):

  1. Welcome the Guests (5-10 minutes)
    • The troop welcomes the speaker or panel and thanks them for visiting.
    • Each guest gives a short introduction.
  2. Present Ideas to the Guests (20 minutes)
    • Scouts take turns presenting their idea or prototype to the guest(s).
    • Presentations should be short and clear.
    • Guests may ask a question or give friendly feedback after each presentation. A group round of applause follows each scout.
  3. Thank the Guests and Say Goodbye (5-10 minutes)
    • Scouts thank the guest(s) and may present a thank-you note or small token if prepared.
    • Guests leave feeling appreciated and engaged.
  4. Reflect and Improve (5–7 minutes, after guests leave)
    • Scouts fill out their Getting Feedback handout based on what they remember hearing from the guests.
    • They write or draw one thing they might change or improve.
