GSUSA – Law Scavenger Hunt & Challenge Activities

This collection of hands-on challenges brings each line of the Girl Scout Law to life through playful action. All can start a meaningful reflection. Designed for elementary-level scouts, these activities are perfect for a single meeting or sprinkled throughout your troop year. These activities are not used to earn petals, but instead offer a playful, meaningful way to revisit the Girl Scout Law through movement, teamwork, and creativity. Kick off a new season, celebrate a milestone, or just have a fresh way to reinforce values.

Each challenge ties to one line of the Law and can be set up as:

  • A scavenger hunt with hidden cards, clues, or objects
  • A trail walk with surprise prompts or mini missions
  • A campfire circle with interactive storytelling or roleplay
  • A rotation-style game circuit indoors or outdoors

Girls might collect ribbons for a wand, assemble Law keys on a ring, or gather scrolls to build a keepsake. You can use all ten Law lines or just a few.

Note: These activities are not designed to earn petals. Their purpose is to revisit, review, or introduce the Girl Scout Law in a fun, active way. While some challenges may overlap with petal requirements, earning petals is not the aim of this list.
