An Investiture Ceremony is a welcoming event for brand-new Girl Scouts joining for the first time, focused on helping them feel included in their new troop. Unlike a Bridging Ceremony, which celebrates transitioning to a new level, or a Rededication Ceremony, which renews commitment to Girl Scout values, investiture is solely about embracing new members into the Girl Scout family

The scripts for all three ceremonies can be very similar as each new scout also vows to uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Scripts for Investiture Ceremonies:
Three Candles – A simple candle ceremony to welcome newly registered scouts and adults into the troop through the Girl Scout Promise.

Click to Expand → When do you have an Investiture Ceremony?
Investiture Ceremonies are usually held at the beginning of the school year or in October when the new GSUSA membership year begins. They can be done at anytime during the year when a new scout joins the troop.
- Start of School Year – Done at the start of the school year when new members start joining the troop.
- October – When the next GSUSA membership year starts on October first, and usually paired with an Investiture Ceremony to welcome any new scouts in the troop at the same time. A great way to start the year off combining new and old scouts.
- Anytime a New Scout Joins – It does not matter the time of the year. If a new scout starts their Scouting adventure and the troop wants to welcome them with a formal Investiture Ceremony, they may do so.
