Items Needed
- Printed copy of the GSUSA Internet Safety Pledge for each scout
- Crayons, markers, pens or pencils
Instructions
- Explain to scouts that the Internet Safety Pledge is a promise they make to stay safe and kind while using the internet.
- Read the pledge aloud as a group, pausing to explain any parts that might be new or unfamiliar to the scouts.
- Give each scout their own copy of the pledge to sign or decorate. If they are not yet comfortable writing their names, they can draw a small picture or trace their initials instead.
- After signing, invite scouts to share one way they plan to stay safe online, reinforcing the importance of their promise.
- Encourage scouts to take their signed pledge home to share with their families as a reminder of their commitment to online safety.
