Fulfills Step 3 of GSUSA Brownie Girl Scout Way badge requirements.
Items Needed
- Girl Scout Promise and Law Printable from GSUSA (one copy for each scout).
- Paper (one sheet per scout).
- Pen or pencil for each scout.
Instructions
- Provide each scout with a copy of the Girl Scout Promise and Law, a piece of paper, and a pen or pencil.
- Explain that sisterhood isn’t just about family—it can be about those who share similar values and interests. Highlight how Girl Scouts around the world are part of a growing sisterhood united by the mission to make the world a better place. Discuss how the Girl Scout Law guides behavior and builds connections within this sisterhood.
- Ask scouts to think about their favorite line from the Girl Scout Law. Encourage them to consider why that line stands out to them.
- Challenge scouts to use their favorite line from the Girl Scout Law as inspiration to invent a game. Encourage scouts to be as imaginative as they want while focusing on the values they chose. Examples:
- If they love “considerate and caring,” they could create a game involving the names of others in the troop.
- If they love “using resources wisely,” they could design a game that uses materials found around them creatively.
- Once the games are created (as an idea, not a prototype), scouts take turns presenting their games to the troop.
