Group Feedback

Items Needed:

Instructions (Estimated Total Time: 20–25 minutes):

  1. Step 1: Introduce Feedback (3–4 minutes)
    • Explain that feedback is when someone shares ideas to help make something better.
  2. Step 2: Prepare to Share (2–3 minutes)
    • Give each scout a Getting Feedback handout and have them think about the questions and how they will answer when asked.
  3. Step 3: Present to the Group (6–8 minutes)
    • One at a time, scouts stand or sit in front of the group and explain their idea using the questions from the handout:
      • What is your idea?
      • What does it do?
      • Who is it for?
  4. Step 4: Give Kind Feedback (5–6 minutes)
    • After each presentation, ask the group to share three helpful thoughts:
      • One thing they like
      • One thing they would change
      • Whether they would use or buy the idea
    • Scouts write this feedback in the last section of their handout.
  5. Step 5: Reflect and Improve (3–4 minutes)
    • Scouts choose one change they’d like to make to improve their idea. They can write or draw it on the back of the handout.
