- Notebooks or journals (or sheets of paper)
- Pens or pencils
Instructions
- Provide each scout with a notebook or journal to use as their gratitude journal.
- Ask scouts to write about one to three things they are grateful for each day. Encourage them to explain why they are grateful for those things to promote deeper reflection. (Write three blessings/gratitude things each day for the Science of Happiness requirement.)
- Suggest they include drawings or decorate their journals if they wish, making it personal and fun. Occasionally, invite scouts to voluntarily share something they’ve written with the group to inspire others. Discuss how practicing gratitude can improve their mood and help them focus on the positive aspects of their day.
