Games – Whomp ‘Em

Items Needed

  • A “Whomp ‘Em Sword” (e.g., Styrofoam tube, fun noodle, or rolled-up newspaper)

Instructions

  1. Choose one Scout to be the “Whomp ‘Em Master,” and have them stand in the middle of a circle holding the Whomp ‘Em Sword.
  2. Arrange Scouts in a circle, sitting with their legs stretched out toward the center. Leave enough space for “Whomp ‘Em Master” to stand in the middle.
  3. Someone in the circle starts the round by saying the name of another Scout in the group.
  4. The Master must quickly “Whomp” (gently hit) the legs of the named Scout before that Scout can say the name of another Scout.
  5. Names cannot be repeated during the same round.
  6. If the Master successfully “Whomps” a Scout before they say another name, that Scout becomes the new “Whomp ‘Em Master.” (Careful, some Scouts may purposely wait to be chosen as the new “Master”. Rules for how often you can be “Master” may need to be implemented.)
  7. Play until all have a chance at being the “Whomp ‘Em Master.”
