Fulfills Step 2 of GSUSA Daisy Petal – Honest and Fair badge requirements.

Items Needed

• Paper/Pencils/Coloring supplies and paper to make their own list OR printout an Scavenger Hunt.

Instructions

1. Discuss Fairness – Ask scouts to share examples of being fair. Avoid correcting answers individually to keep the discussion positive. After everyone has spoken, share examples of fairness, including sharing with others, following rules, and including everyone.
2. Create Scavenger Hunt Lists – Have scouts brainstorm things to find in nature and either write down or draw pictures to make a scavenger hunt list. Limit lists to 5 items for time management. Alternatively, printout an Scavenger Hunt.
3. Outdoor Scavenger Hunt – Take scouts outside and give them 3–5 minutes to look for items individually. Then, have them work together as a team to ensure everyone finds the objects or time runs out.
4. Reflect on Teamwork – Ask scouts whether it was easier to search individually or as a team, highlighting the importance of fairness and inclusion.
