Games – Heads Up 7 Up

Items Needed

  • None (just the group and their creativity!)

Instructions

  1. Choose up to 7 Scouts to stand at the front of the room. (This is where “7 Up” comes into play – but choose less scouts if you have less than 12 scouts playing, like in the Smaller Group Variant below)
  2. The remaining Scouts sit with their heads down, thumbs up, and eyes closed.
  3. The Scouts at the front each go around and gently tap one Scout’s head. If a Scout’s head is tapped, they put their thumb down.
  4. Once all Scouts at the front have picked someone, they return to the front of the room.
  5. The Scouts who were tapped stand up and get one guess each to figure out who tapped them.
  6. If a Scout guesses correctly, they trade places with the Scout who tapped them. If they guess incorrectly, they sit back down.

Smaller Group Variation – Head Up, Thumbs Down

  1. Choose two or more Scouts to stand up.
  2. The remaining Scouts sit with their heads down, eyes closed, and thumbs sticking up.
  3. The standing Scouts quietly move around and gently touch one Scout each on the thumb.
  4. After tapping is done, those upfront announce that everyone can open their eyes.
  5. The Scouts who were tapped stand up and try to guess who tapped them.
  6. If a Scout guesses correctly, they swap places with the Scout who tapped them. If they guess incorrectly, the same standing Scouts have another turn.
