Items Needed
- A soft ball, such as a dodgeball, foursquare ball, or beach ball (appropriate for the players’ age group).
- An open, safe space for the group to play.
Instructions
- Have all Scouts form a circle.
- Choose one Scout or adult to act as the leader. The leader stands in the center of the circle with the ball.
- This is a game of opposites. The leader tosses the ball to any Scout in the circle and calls out an action, either “Head it” or “Catch it” and the scout must do the opposite.
- If the leader says “Head it,” the Scout must catch the ball with their hands.
- If the leader says “Catch it,” the Scout must head the ball (hit it with their head).
- Players who do the wrong action or drop the ball are out until the next round.
- The leader continues tossing the ball and calling actions, keeping the pace fun and engaging.
