Game also called Electric Current, or Electricity
Items Needed
- One coin
- Two small objects for grabbing (e.g., a ball, marker, or small toy)

Instructions
- Divide scouts into two teams and have them sit in single file lines. Scouts sit, facing the other line, but hold hands in their line, not across. This forms a “circuit”.
- Place the small objects at the end of each line. Have a single coin on the opposite side of the line.
- Everyone closes their eyes except the two scouts at the head of the line next to the coin and the adult volunteer. These are the “watchers”.
- The adult volunteer flips the coin.
- If the coin lands on tails, no one should squeeze or grab. Scouts must remain frozen until the next coin flip.
- If the coin lands on heads, the “coin flipper “watchers” gently squeeze the hand of the scout next to them. The squeeze is then passed down the line, from scout to scout, until it reaches the scout closest to the object. The scout closest to the object is the “grabber”.
- Once the “grabber” feels the squeeze, they grab the object as quickly as possible to score a point for their team. Their eyes must remain closed even when grabbing their object.
- Repeat multiple rounds, rotating who is the “watcher” and “grabber” until all have a chance. Keep track of which team wins the most points by grabbing the object first.
Variations
- No Talking Rule: Add an extra challenge by requiring complete silence during the game. Scouts can only communicate through the squeeze signal.
- Multiple Objects: Add extra objects along the line, requiring scouts to grab the one closest to them when the signal reaches their part of the circuit. They must pass along the squeeze before they can break the circuit to grab their object. Eyes must remain closed.
