Game also known as Sally Walker (although some groups find that song inappropriate and it does not need to be used)
Items Needed
- A large open space where scouts can form a circle and move safely
- Scouts should know a chant (can be as simple as “”We will, we will rock you <stomp, stomp, clap>”)

Instructions
- Have scouts form a large circle, leaving enough space to move and dance comfortably.
- Select one scout to start in the center of the circle. Pick a chant and two words in the chant that are the “signals”. Everyone sings and dances to the chant. (i.e. the first “rock you” in “We will rock you” is the first signal and the second “rock you” is the second signal.)
- As the scouts in the circle sing the chant and dance, the scout in the center listens for the first “signal” word (i.e. the first “rock you”). When the first “signal” word is sung, the scout in the center jumps in front of a different scout in the circle, and they begin dancing face-to-face.
- On the second “signal” word (i.e. the second “rock you”), the scout in the center trades places with the scout they jumped in front of. The new scout now becomes the one in the center.
- Continue the game until every scout has had a turn being in the center of the circle.
Variations
- Change the Movements: Instead of dancing, encourage scouts to create their own motions (e.g., silly faces, poses, or gestures) to perform face-to-face. The motions can match the chant they choose.
- Speed It Up: Gradually increase the speed of the chant to make the game more energetic and challenging.
- Theme Dancing: Assign a theme for the dancing, such as animals, sports moves, or favorite characters, to add creativity.
- Silent Mode: Play the game without the chant. Scouts must communicate who switches spots through gestures or dance movements only.
